Image 1- In this picture there is a side portrait of a boy in the background is a harbor with boats in it. The use of colour is in black and white it looks like there are three layers. There is a dot to dot of what looks like a brain in the boy. The subject matter of this photo is the boy. A bit of work and editing has been done on the computer on this brain effect look and I think it stands out because the white is bright. I think that the mood is happy because the whether looks nice and the image be taken on a nice day out at the harbor. The colour can change the mood of the picture, but I think that this image in black and white doesn't change it much it makes it look effective. Image 2- Dan Mountford has used another profile portrait of a boy filled with cigarettes the texture looks rough and bumpy. Its a close up of cigarettes. The subject matter is the cigarettes and the boy. Around the outside the colour fades down from top to bottom. The two images of the boy and the cigarettes have been layered together then the outs face has been faded out so its just left with the outline so you can see the cigarettes. Image 3- I like this picture because it seems more complexed and detailed than the first two. You can see the detail of the girls face whereas in the first two you couldn't you could only see the image behind. In his work he often uses side profiles of a person. Architecture has been used in this photo I like this because it makes it more interesting. He also has used black and white again usually around the subject matter there is nothing else around the edge. I think that it would look more interesting in colour.
